As we celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2026, we reflect on the extraordinary living spaces Showcase Renovations has created for homeowners through expert craftsmanship, thoughtful collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

The company’s roots trace back to childhood friends Stephen Roche and Kevin Kish, who built careers in residential construction and reputations for integrity and attention to detail. In 2001, they founded Showcase Renovations with a simple vision: take on fewer projects, build them exceptionally well, and make the experience as rewarding as the finished home.

That philosophy remains at the heart of everything we do. Showcase Renovations has completed numerous award-winning projects and collaborated with many of Minnesota’s most respected architects. Our work has also been featured on the AIA Minnesota Homes by Architects Tour and in the Star Tribune’s Home of the Month.

In 2023, longtime industry leader Greg Kraus acquired the company, carrying forward the strong foundation established by its founders. Today, Showcase Renovations continues to deliver architecturally significant renovations, additions, and custom homes throughout the Twin Cities.

While the company has evolved, our purpose remains the same: to create remarkable homes through craftsmanship, collaboration, and an unwavering dedication to excellence. That commitment is reflected in every project, every partnership, and every home we are privileged to build.

Our Timeline

  1. 1970’s

    A Lifelong Foundation

    Childhood friends Stephen Roche and Kish form a friendship in Middle School rooted in shared values, work ethic, and a passion for building.

  2. 1980’s

    Building the Craft

    Roche launches his first construction company as Kish soon joins, developing hands-on expertise and establishing a reputation for quality craftsmanship throughout the Twin Cities.

  3. 1990’s

    A Shared Vision Takes Shape

    After years of successful collaboration, Roche and Kish become partners and begin building custom homes together, laying the foundation for a future company dedicated to exceptional residential construction.

  4. 2001

    A Legacy is Founded

    Showcase Renovations, Inc is established with a simple philosophy: prioritize quality over quantity and deliver a highly personalized remodeling and custom homebuilding experience.

  5. 2004

    National Recognition Begins

    Earning its first Chrysalis Award, Showcase Renovations launches a long tradition of industry recognition for excellence in remodeling and construction.

  6. 2005

    Leading Through Innovation

    The company completes one of Minnesota's first environmentally certified custom homes, reflecting an early commitment to thoughtful design and building innovation.

  7. 2009

    Expanding Technical Expertise

    Successfully completing its first major underpinning project, Showcase Renovations establishes a reputation for managing complex structural renovations and challenging architectural projects.

    Trusted Architectural Partnerships

    Strengthens long-standing relationships with many of Minnesota's most respected architects and collaborating on award-winning custom homes and renovations throughout the region becomes a hallmark of the brand.

    Featured on the AIA Homes by Architects Tour

    Multiple projects are selected for the prestigious AIA Minnesota Homes by Architects Tour, allowing visitors to see firsthand the company's meticulous attention to detail, noteworthy craftsmanship and their collaborative approach to design.
